"In this lecture, Struan Stevenson MEP discusses the ecological disasters of the Aral Sea, uranium tailings, nuclear testing in the Kazakh Polygon and desertification. He focuses also on the activities of the European Union and European Parliament in the region. The lecture will be followed by Q&A.
Struan Stevenson has represented Scotland in the European Parliament since 1999. In January 2010 he was appointed the Personal Representative on Ecology & the Environment to the Chairman in office of the OSCE.
